Mendelian inheritance

A common pattern by which genes and traits are transmitted from parent plants to their offspring in accordance with Mendel’s laws of inheritance. Typically, a heterozygous plant with alleles “Aa” after self-pollination results in an progeny with a genotype segregation of 1 AA : 2 Aa : 1 aa and phenotype segregation of 3 A* : 1 aa. Synonym: particulate inheritance
