White star-shaped flowers are prone to late night frost damage; best planted in a sheltered location. Silky flowerbuds. Flowering at very young age. Very profusely flowering. Diploid species (2n=38). Originating from Asia (Japan). Cutflower. Slow growing small tree, suitable for small gardens. Light pruning keeps plant less than 150 cm high. Does not like replanting.
